In a couple of my other groups, I've been hosting inkbox card booklet swaps, and I love them so much that I'm hoping my bird-loving friends would enjoy this sort of extended swap also. The first thing we do is to make a master board, using a 12-inch square piece of heavy cardstock as the base. I usually like to make an initial layer of collaged neutral scraps, making sure that the base is completely covered, and then begin adding strips and scraps of brighter colors, maybe something glitzy here and there...and then going in with some rubber stamping, a touch of paint or alcohol ink, etc. It's best not to go all in on the base, because you will want to add some embellishment to your individual inkbox cards. Once the base is finished, cut it into 16 3-inch squares and round the corners. Pop these into an envelope or bag and put them somewhere handy. For each swap, we'll be making 2 inkbox cards for our swap partner. For an example of this type of card,THIS video might be helpful. When all 16 cards have been received, we can assemble them into booklets as shown in Margarete's video. For this first swap, let's create 2 inkbox cards with a BLUE theme. I hope you enjoy this as much as I have! |
